Running a business can be daunting, especially when you’re responsible for everything from marketing and sales to customer service and operations. Every business has processes, even if they’re simple. For example, “boil kettle make tea” is a process. So is “reconfigure the KPIs for your department based on seventeen reports of varying length and density.” And so is “rebuild a heavily extended semidetached house in the middle of winter”.

Regardless of their complexity, having clear processes is an investment in your business.  When your processes are documented, you can easily identify areas where they can be improved, and you can make sure that everyone in your team is on the same page. This can help you to improve efficiency, productivity, and communication, which are all essential for scaling your business.

Writing down your business processes can feel difficult. It can be hard to know where to start, and it can be timeconsuming. And it can be even more difficult if you feel like you’re the only one who knows how to do certain things.
